Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a history that combines family scholarship football and community service. His first family is that his father was the youngest of the nine children raised within Eufala with Lucious Selmon. He played second in football and was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award as well as the Lombardi Award as the best lineman in the country. He won two championships and 31-1-1 during his three years as the Oklahoma's starting linebacker. A third scholarship saw him named as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon received his bachelor's degree in education. Fourth-year service in the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours every week for volunteer activities. He settled down in Tampa following college. He playing for the Buccaneers for a period of nine years, and made three times all-pro. His career in business began. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. The Junior Chamber of Commerce honored his name in 1982, as one of the top 10 young men from the United States. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6-2. In his time at college, he commanded the 1975 team. In 1993, he was appointed the associate director of Athletics at University of South Florida. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame through The GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994, as well as The Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 presented their Distinguished American Award to his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor that made the award.
